It's so easy to paint the truth you're telling when you sell the frame to fit. Speaking only in abstractions, I never say what's really on my mind when it matters most. Under the gun, I will wait to queue my laments until you are six feet buried under the bus. I am an accessory, aiding and abetting in the murder of your character. Please understand that all my thoughts worth half a damn will always be a sin too late And if a resolution's marked by preservation, I guess my mouth moves too goddamn quickly for my pace. But a sword undrawn is just dead weight, and I can't reconcile the shame. In between the ivory, I am inevitably between my mind and the words that I eat. Oh, it's so hard to be a fuck's worth of the person I imagine myself to be. Please understand that all my thoughts worth half a damn will always be two steps ahead of me. I'm finding it hard to be worth more than the words I eat each day.

Flu meds down with bold ideas. Bleeding from my nose. The air is dry and cold. The style and grace of that whiskey jacket. In vintage taste, a well tailored habit. I will wane and I will forfeit. A few bottles with our pain, two pillows and a blanket. Flu meds down with bold ideas. Bleeding from my nose. The air is dry and cold. Rooms spin, impulsed with bold ideas. Who is driving you home? A taste more of beer for the road. Old enough to make the call but too young for the right one. Black Label on her lips, into the car she's stumbling. All's well that never ends. Dear before liquor. All's best that never began. I've never been sicker. I could stay sick like this forever We are young and drunk. We'd be invincible if just cognitive enough.

Open your eyes to see yourself inside a paralyzed state. You've slept too long, your skin is thin, you can't wake up from this dream. Your cells divide in such a way that you can’t keep up the pace. And we scream. I can’t forget what they said when you left. It’s not your fault, you played your part, now you just have to exist. I can’t forget what I said on that day. Please don’t forget me. And when your breath starts to slow, I know your pain will follow suit. My thoughts abide, my prayers are cried. Son, no one listens for you. If you acknowledge our prayers are unheard, They’re merely God’s spoken word. And then I hope when I die, He leaves me waiting in line. They say the pain goes away. I’m waiting counting the days. I can’t forget what they said when you left. It’s not your fault, you played your part, now you just have to exist. I can’t forget what I said on that day. Please don’t forget me. You will live with regret for the rest of your days. You will try your best to trade out your life for his. (Please don’t forget me.) And in this moment, I can still make out the frame of your face. (I can feel you watching, are you still here with me?) Your shoulders broad, your voice is strong, but all the details, replaced. (From higher places. Please come find me.) It scares me every day to think that I’ll forget everything. (If you left a sign for me to find,) A moment froze in time to watch a loved one die and watch a soul slip away. (Then I’ve been looking, I’m still waiting.) Your love is brought out through the hope we carry in life. We speak in joy and praise of all the love you carried inside. I struggle through every day. I smile through all the pain. I know it’s what you would say. I wish it was me. I can’t forget what they said when you left. It’s not your fault, you played your part, now you just have to exist. I can’t forget what I said on that day. Please don’t forget me. You will live with regret for the rest of your life. You will try your best to trade out your life for his.

Fire is burning embers in my heart Hatred, seething from my heart. I see everything burning in my eyes Nothing can keep this pain from my life And I will stay where I wanna be Just to wait for my reckoning. And if I lose everything I have I will fight until I get it back. Face to face, what the fuck you gonna say to me? Tie me up, cleanse my curse In your image, the world is dead In your image, the world is dead. And I'll give, and you'll take Do you have something to say? And I'll give, and you'll take And you have nothing to say. Tie me up, cleanse my soul This time, the corkscrew bends the wrench. Tie me up, burn me alive.
